• Hi, I’m a newbie when it comes to making websites but I would like to have a photoblog website for my photography. I came across this website ( http://www.lighttight.com/narchives.php ) which is powered by wordpress and really like the way the gallery and website is setup. Could anyone here give me some steps on how to start getting my website setup similar to this one. I have my own website set up and running wordpress already so i’m at least that far, i just need some help getting galleries started.

    Thanks for your help.
    Blake

  • It looks to be a custom version of the “nicer archives” templates floating around.

My guess as to what s/he has done is to list each month (again, using a version of narchives), and under each post include the thumbnail as the excerpt, then link to each post with the excerpt used in place of the post title (as link).

Here’s one forum thread that kind of discusses this sort of thing:

BlakeSuddeth, did you read the responses to your previous nearly-identical request?

Did you try contacting the person whose photoblog you liked to ask how he or she accomplished it?

    Sorry for the double posts.
Thanks for the help guys, but I still don’t know how to set the gallery up. It might be best for me to find a more beginner form of web design.

Try searching for “photoblog theme” – someone put a link up to a fairly nifty one here a while back. That might help.

I contacted the blogger at lighttight. He said that he is using the plugin Pictorialis.
