   All of a sudden when ever i click the add photo icon, it crashes firefox ... very puzzleing how this has stop working all of a sudden

   Several folks at WordPress.com complain of the same problem. I thought it might be something on my computer but can't seem to find a problem, and other browsers work fine. Since it's happening to them too I'm guessing it's not a hosting issue.

   Seems to be a conflict with Gears.

   OK, I think I found the problem. I installed Gears on my XP FF install and it now crashes so it is some sort of conflict between Gears and FF 3.0.10.

   Go to tools > addons and disable gears and your problems should go away.

   Gears it is. Disable, and there it goes... so, what did I lose by disabling Gears? Any takers?

    Hmm, me too! What's odd is that I installed Google Gears a while back, and the upload/insert function worked fine until just today.

    Disabling Gears for my site didn't do the trick, I had to disable the add-on entirely.

    I have the same problem, I have gears and it worked fine until an hour ago but disabling gears fixed it. WHY?

    Very strange - the uploader always worked fine until today. I, too, uninstalled Gears thanks to LauraC's suggestion and it seems to be fine now. Thanks!

    I installed Gears waaayyy back and today it starts messing with the uploader? Well, disabling it solved the problem - but still, it's strange...

    find it very odd too, disabled gears and uploader now working.... owell i didnt really see any major speed improvements with gears.

    Another Gears solution--thanks! Firefox hasn't picked up on it yet.

    happening to me to. I'll disable gears for now, but can someone at wordpress let us know when this is resolved?

    this thread says resolved, but disabling gears is not "resolve" its a work around, please advise when someone finds a real resolution. Thanks!

    I agree with thepatrickclan. Though it is possible that the issue was resolved with the recent update - or internally at Google.

    I say this because I just re-installed and enabled Gears for my site and though I haven't done any extensive tests, everything seems to be working.

    Of course it worked fine before, 'til the day we all woke up to the fact that it had stopped.

    Has this been addressed by anyone from WP? I suppose I could look.
