    hi, I have a little problem:

    I would like to link to a lightbox gallery from some images in the side bar. It seems that “image widget” works pretty good for the side bar, but:

    1) The images in the lightbox gallery should be different from the ones in the side bar.

    2) I would need to link from time to time to a different slide in the lighbox gallery.

    it would be perfect if i can add a brief description to the images in the lightbox.

    Do you know how could i work this out?

    Hi!

    To attempt to distill all the requirements– in other words are we looking for a plugin which can do these features?:
    – display one or more images in the sidebar
    – have the sidebar image(s) be (a) link(s) to a lightbox image gallery
    – be configurable which single image within that gallery is the “landing” image

    The Image Widget plugin mentioned in the last post does seem to fill some of this functionality– It can display one or more images in the sidebar and it can make that image be a hyperlink to any url, specified in the widget’s “Link:” textbox field.

    The Image Widget plugin seems to fall short of the entire need here, because it is not a lightbox and it is not an image gallery.

    Follow-up question: when from time to time it would link to a different image, is that envisioned to be automatic– like a random effect, or set by a person, or…?

    Would the next step to be keep searching for a plugin that has the lightbox functionality and the gallery functionality?
