Permissions problem when setting thumbnail.

    The set as thumbnail option only appears after I’ve saved draft.

    The problem is that the post doesn’t register you as the owner of the post until you saved the draft.

    How can I fix this?

    What’s the problem with saving the draft? You can’t set a post thumb until the post it’s attached to has a database record.

    Because I have other contributors on the site, I do not wish for an extra step. Is there anyway around this?
