    Hi all,

I'm a kinda newb'on WordPress and would like to have some advise...

I've bought a hosting on a webhost called OVH, well known in France. I'm now trying to finish my website which is already online, but when I'm trying to update WordPress, or any plugin, or to download plugins, even when uploading pics, I always have the same error message :
    Downloading install package from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/nextgen-gallery.zip…

Download failed. Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.

And by the way when I try to change permission settings on my FTP, permission which are by default named as xxx, the changes are not saved. I change from xxx to 750 for instance, and recheck, all permissions are again on xxx. Never saved.

Do you have a solution for me ?

Thanks a lot, this is an association site and I'm really late on delivery due to those 2 errors, which are certainly liked to each other.

Thanks a lot for all the help you can give me !

    Cheers,

    Paddy

Deactivate all plugins, revert to Twenty Eleven theme and see if the problem persists. Use FTP or your hosting control panel if you cannot login or use your dashboard.

Thanks for replying so quickly but I have still the same problems...

Just trying to upload a picture and then : “IMG_2355.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory E:\WebSite\cocksofthetiger.com\www/wp-content/uploads/2012/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Any idea what's going on ?

Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Seems to be a permission issue.

Yep I know, but when I try to change permission settings they are not taken into account I have still this issue : 500 'SITE CHMOD 0740 Renderer.php': command not understood in my FTP (Filezilla), and still a fail message online on the site when I try to upload just a single picture.
