Permission Issue for Admin Role on Multisite Install (2 posts)

    Hi Mike,

Great plugin. Thank you for all your efforts in putting this together.

I'm having (what I think is) a permissions issue with a multisite install. First off, is this plugin multisite compatible? If not, a quick note in the FAQ or Description might be worth adding, and save yourself the time in reading on.

If it should work with Multisite, here's the issue I'm hoping you can help with:

I have "Network Activated" the plugin. For one of my sub-sites, when I'm logged in as a Super Admin, the plugin works as expected. No issues.

But when I login to the same site as an Admin role, the menu item is not present at all in the sidebar, and there is no meta box on the post edit screen. If I try to go to the URL directly (http://sitename.com/subsite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=email-users/email-users.php), as an Admin, I get "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page."

For the Admins, the "Settings > Email Users" item is there beneath "Settings", but there is no way to actually use the plugin.

We're using WP 3.5.2 and Email Users 4.4.4.

When on the Settings > Email Users page, there is an error message at the top that says:

It looks like you have an old version of the plugin activated. Please deactivate the plugin and activate it again to complete the installation of the new version.

    Installed Version:
    Current Version: 4.4.4

Installed Version is blank. Do you think this could be causing the permissions issue?

Thanks again for a great plugin, and for your help.
    Dave

I run the plugin under multisite on my own site (michaelwalsh.org) so to the best of my knowledge, there are no multisite issues. I just created a local admin on a sub-site and did not have the same issues you are reporting.

Have you tried disabling plugins to see if it a plugin conflict?
