• Hi,

I was able to update my .htaccess file with the code WP generated based on this rule:

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

But, now I get 404’s when I try to view any page within the blog. I’ve installed WP in a sub folder just below the websites root so the natural path is:

    http://www.mysite.com/blog/

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing the rewrite rule to fail?

    Thanks,

    Kid

  • Your host allows mod_rewrite? Additionally, you’ve setup your blog URI to point to the /blog/ directory?

    Hi,

    My URI is set to:

    http://www.mysite.com/blog

Does there need to be a trailing slash (/)?

    Yes, mod-rewrite is allowed.

Do you need to have an .htaccess file in the blog directory itself or can you use the .htaccess found in the root of the website?

For WP keep it in its own directory.

    Hi,

By placing a .htaccess file in the WP directory I got it to work except for short rules like:

    /Êtegory%/%postname%/

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks again

    Hi,

The problem I am having is related to the bug in Apache 1.3. I guess I will have to not include the category tag.
