[resolved] Permalinks messed up my whole blog (4 posts)

    Hi all,

I'm pretty new to WP so bear with me. I was thinking of changing the permalinks to my posts, so before tinkering with any of my existing posts I created a throw-away post and changed the permalink on it, just to test it. It didn't work for some reason -- when I clicked on the updated post it took me to a not-found page.

However, I don't really care about that - I'm not wedded to changing my permalinks. The problem is that for some reason the permalinks on ALL of my posts have now been changed to the dummy one that I made up. I don't know why.. I did not touch those posts at all. All of the posts seem to be intact, but when you click on them you just get the not-found page. I can't even find the permalinks that they used to have.

Any help would be really, really appreciated! Thanks in advance..

Crikey, I fixed it. I'd thought I was editing just the one permalink but it had taken me to settings page, where I put that custom permalink which it then inserted into all of the posts.

I told you I was new at this.

go to admin permalinks and re save the option.
    change the option save.
    reset to original setting, save
    all fixed...I hope.

good for you verbkeeper, you might want to do some online training, like read the manual...it's worth the time.
