    As of this morning I am having a permalinks issue and had to reset to default to get them to work again.

    However, when I tried to change the setting back to /%postname%/ the links stopped working again. Here is my htaccess info, any help would be appreciated.

    Options FollowSymLinks

    # BEGIN WordPress

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    Two reasons, it has been working for nearly a year, so why would it stop this morning?

    why would it stop this morning?

    Servers change, get updated and/or break. Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is running on your server.

    Check with your hosts. It is patently obvious that the rewrite rules are not being parsed correctly by the server.

    Where did you see that? If you could point it out for me it would be greatly appreciated.

    I apologize for it not being patently obvious to me.

    Correct .htaccess file + mod_rewrite working should = working permalinks.
    Since yours aren't working, the only explanation is that the .htaccess rewrite rules are not being acted on by the server. Either way, you need to contact your hosts. It's a server issue - not a WordPress one, per se.
