   Greetings, is there any way to set permalinks for categories to: "http://www.yourwebsite.com/%category%/" instead of "http://www.yourwebsite.com/category/%category%/"? I know I can change category base (to "topics" for example), but can I not use it at all?

   wordpress assumes category view
   try using just /%postname%/
   or review this
   http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Choosing_your_permalink_structure

   No, category base doesn't allow the same variables as custom structure, so I can't use %postname% (those links won't work at all).
   I took a good look at Using_Pemalinks article before posting my question here.
   So, anyone can help? Please... :-)
