    Hello there,
I have a new wordpress blog at http://www.exfoc.com. I have reinstalled the blog, and am going to import the older posts, however, I've run into a problem.

My permalinks give a 404 Error. I have 'mod_rewrite' enabled, wordpress can read and write to the file and the .htaccess is working fine as well.

    # BEGIN WordPress

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    # END WordPress

Also, permalinks worked absolutely fine before I reinstalled WordPress.

    Help me ASAP,

    Thanks,
    Anurag

Well, the issue is fixed. All I did was copy the contents of the the .htaccess file, create a new .htaccess file, and then replace the original one. Everything else is the same : i.e. Settings, Permissions etc.

I dont really know how that happened, but I'm glad, I was able to make it work.

P.S. Out of curiosity : Anybody has any ideas of why that worked? The original file was the same duplicate of the new one.
