Editorial Assistant by Zemanta
Permalinks broken all of a sudden (5 posts)

I've been using Editorial Assistant for a couple of weeks now and I like it but I've recently discovered a problem with the plugin. Starting yesterday when I add a new post to my blog, the permalink gets set to a number instead of the post title. There's also no button to edit the permalink like before.

The strange thing is if I delete the post title after putting text in the post editor, the permalink sometimes changes to what it should have been in the first place and the permalink edit button shows up again. Then I have to retype the post title. If I disable Editorial Assistant, I do not have this problem.

Has anyone else seen this issue and is there a way to fix this?

    Hey!

Hm, this does sound a bit weird, yes, but we're not quite sure if this has something to do with us or with the WordPress's Dashboard, since we don't have much to do with that permalink part. We did notice the same thing on our side, but maybe it's just a new feature from the WordPress's team.

But we didn't manage to replicate that second problem, with the Edit button turned on (when Zemanta is off). We only get this button up when the blogpost is already published. Are we on the same page here or are we missing something out?

I just installed Editorial Assistant today on a brand new blog, went to put up my first post, and noticed this issue right away. After disabling Editorial Assistant, the permalinks go back to the way I have them setup under Settings > Permalinks.

I would really like to use this plugin to help get more traffic and exposure, however as it stands, this issue is a seriously problem for SEO and that's enough for me to keep it disabled for now.

My blog is 100% brand new as of today, so I don't know what the issue could be.

    Hey @bentscottly & @elevenize!

Firstly — sorry for the delayed reply and big thanks for this bumping this issue to us (again)! We did some investigation during this last week and it took us sometime to actually spot the cause of this problem, which we are now fixing.

We expect the fix to be released sometime today, maybe tomorrow. Please bear with us while I will keep you posted on any news regarding this issue.

Let me know if you have any more questions — I'll gladly help!

Take care & have a nice day!

    Best,
    Silvo

Thanks for your response. I really like the plugin. I'm looking forward to seeing an update that resolves the issue.
