my permalinks update to whatever tags i specify, and it all works fine, apart from my sidebar, which works in some ways and not in others. anyone got any ideas? ive changed the settings of my haccess file so that wp can edit it, which it does correctly.

well when ive got the permalinks structure category/postname set, in some places it functions fine and in others it doesn't work at all.
for example, if i click a post title on my main page when this setting is defined, the permalinks work correctly and the links of the sidebar within that post work.
when i choose the 'posted in catagory' link on the front page, it takes me to the right category via the defined permalink, but the sidebar links dont work.
there's a few other variations of it not working. it all seems to depend on the route of link choices i make. there isn't a consistency in permalinks working.

Well, strange matters. I cannot get it to malfunction. Selecting a "posted in" link on the main page brings up the catagory, but the sidebar links seem to work perfectly.
Of course I haven't tested all possible combinations, but the only thing I noticed was that at times it took a while for the sidebar links to be visible.
Do you have a specific route of action, that makes the sidebar links not to work correctly?

i currently dont have the permalinks set to the structure which is causing errors, as this would disrupt the service i provide my visitors.
i dont know why the sidebar takes so long to load. any ideas?
