    Hi All,

Im hoping someone can possibly answer this for me..

OK at the moment my wordpress site is setup using the following links for example:

    http://mywebsite/podcasts/?p=2194

I want to convert these links to permalinks to help with SEO but the problem i am facing is that alot of people are linking into the website using the above urls for example.

The question is.... If i change the urls to Permalinks will this cause the above inbound links to be broken? Thus people wont be able to reach them anymore??

Obviously if someone new bookmarks or links in with the new permalink url e.g. http://mywebsite/podcasts/archives/123 that link will be fine. but the main question is if someone has an inbound link coming into my site using the old url method, will it still reach that page??

    Hoping someone can advise here!

    Regards

    Tom

The same question here. I had my permalinks as /%postname-%post_Id%/ and now I changed it to /%category/%postname%/. But my old links are bookmarked by a lot visitors and also are crawled by search engines. Is there anything I can do?

The http://mywebsite/podcasts/?p=2194 links should always work.

Change it and try going to an old address just to be sure. You can always change back if it doesn't work.
