hi
i have been having the same problem,
and no solution is coming neither from IThemes security support nor form wp-support.
IThemes security only lets me change the wp-login slug, which is a pretty simple thing with other plugins too.
it seems wp-admin is not changeable at all, unless you rename the entire wp-files manually, and forget about updates and plugins unless you rename them as well.
pretty poor from WP though, as it is not only a esthetic fault, but also a big security lack.
will let you know if i find a appropriate solution.
just to let you know that much:
i tried every permalink-setting, and it does not make any changes to the IThemes security settings. (regarding wp-login slug)
but it worked best with permalinks set to “post name”.
it will only change the wp-login slug though, still publish wp-admin once logged in.
horrible, i know.
Thank you. I tried that way, and it worked.
by the way, i discovered a way to rename the admin-slug:
goodbye-wp-admin (plugin)
follow instructions.
if you get error message after:
go to wp-config.php
make sure the first line is NOT empty, make sure the opening tag <?php is the FIRST (top, left) letters that are in the script.
NO space, NO empty line before opening tag <?php allowed, or script will crash.
logged in users will see http://www.yoursite.com/admin-panel instead of http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin
YOU as super admin will still see wp-admin
be careful, compatibility issue with plugin “rename-wp-login .php”
be careful, dashboard of users will redirect to error message, can be worked around with custom menu linking directly to “posts” / “manage comments” / etc.
if you need further help, ask.
by the way: did YOUR IThemes plugin RENAME the wp-admin slug, or are you (like me ) just able to rename the wp-login-slug?
bye,
beda
