I just messed something up AHH. I tried to change something to permalinks, and now I have a 500 server internal error every time I try and access any part of my blog! How can I go back and undo this?

Whew, was really scared there, fixed it. I just deleted the htaaccess file that was in the directory. Is that ok? Did I mess up anything internal by doing that/

    No.

.htaccess creates an independent effect on how the Apache web server takes requests for filenames and does not alter your files.

Were you actually trying to edit the .htaccess file?

no, I edited the permalink path (I think that’s what it was called) in “options” I must have done it wrong, because the entire blog couldn’t be accessed, 500 internal server error. I just deleted the .htaccess to fix this.
