    Hi
I have just changed my standard permalinks (http://www.XXX.com/wordpress/?p=123 ) to nice permalinks (http://www.XXX.com/wordpress/2008/08/sample-post/)
    and everytime I click on a post I get 404 page !
switching back to old prefs brings everything back to normal !!
Any ideas how to correct this ?
Does it mean database is not updated ??
Does it mean when you start with 1 type of permalinks you should stick to it and never change it or you will lose all posts previous to this modification ???
    Thanks for help.
    Jean

I'd probably worry about it if it doesn't work once moving it to a real world server environment.

Common Problem. I think it has something to do with the .htacces file...

You need to Chmod it to 755 or 666 then update the permalinks. I have not had sucessyet so if you do please post back your reply
