Permalink Problem (2 posts)

I've been testing Permalinks lately. I was using the tag structure
/%year% /%postname% /. However, for one particular post, instead of using %postname%, the permalink has a structure of /%year% /%postid% /. Therefore, clicking on it results in a 404 error. Anyone has any ideas?

Also, if I use /%category%/%postname%/, what happens to my pages?

Lastly, does anyone know how I can install mod_rewrite on my Mac?

    Thanks in advance guys!

  2. I honestly have no clue about your first problem there. What happens if you change the post slug?

/%category%/ still seems to be a bit unstable and only appears to work on a few configurations. If I were you, I'd stick to a concrete date structure with a postname, like:
    /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

As for your last query, I'm not sure, but these two tutorials will help get you a PHP implementation that does have mod_rewrite active.
