permalink custom structure question (8 posts)

I'm using "/%category%/%postname%/" in the permalink custom structure, but since I have only pages on the blog, isn't it redundant to include "/%category%/ (since category is for posts not pages), or it doesn't matter?

If you are mainly using Pages, then you really should use a custom permalink structure that starts with a numeric. See Using_Permalinks and http://ottopress.com/2010/category-in-permalinks-considered-harmful/

Thank you esmi for the suggestion and the links, great info. So how about "/%post_id%/%postname%/" -- should be up to specs, right?

Yep - that should be fine.

Why don't you just use only /%postname%/ ?

@klevismiho: Please see the current recommendations in Using_Permalinks.

For performance reasons, it is not a good idea to start your permalink structure with the category, tag, author, or postname field.

Thanks esmi. I wasn't aware of it. I saw it from a SEO perspective.
