I'd like to change the structure of my permalinks (the gentlemen who helped me set up my blog made them rather messy) -- however, I'm concerned that if someone attempts to click on one of my old permalinks they'll be greeted with a 404.

I've fiddled around on a test site, and from what I can tell entering the old permalink will simply redirect to the new one. I was just hoping somebody here could confirm if that is correct, as I don't want to make the change to my real blog until I know for sure.

    Thank you!

Anybody have any idea? I don't want to make the change if it's going to mess up all my existing links in.

do a permament redirect in your .htaccess file:

    Redirect permanent /old/url/something.whatever http://yoursite/newurl

    should fix it.
