   Hi,

   Changing permalinks to custom breaks stylesheet.css. I've looked into some of the other postings regarding permalinks and couldnt really find a solution. Do you have any thoughts--I would really appreciate it!

   Only on a badly designed theme that has hardcoded something into the stylesheet call. Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to confirm this.

   Ah! Thanks for the reply. I'm an SEO consultant and didnt design the site. Any tips on what I should look for to correct or what to tell the web designer? Thanks!

   Any competent developer will know what to look for, when you point out the problem.

   (I must say, this is a first: I don't think I've ever run into a Theme in which the CSS assumes a particular permalink structure.)
