[resolved] Permalink adding /#/0 (9 posts)

I use the custom permalink structure /%category%/%postname%/ for my pages.

For some reason I suddenly have a page (not a post) adding /#/0 to that page's permalink, but to no others.

    http://www.carolineschelling.com/portraits/#/0

The page will load if one types in the URL without that addition, but once loaded the permalink changes to that above.

WP is using the correct slug, but there are no pages with the same title (e.g., neither in Trash nor as Drafts), so I am unsure why WP is adding #/0 to the end of the permalink.

I have tried going back to an earlier version of the page and also deleting the page and recreating it after emptying the Trash.

I also read a bit about permalink settings but found nothing that would cause this to happen to only a single page.

I would appreciate any suggestions or explanations.

So sorry about the link mistake above; I'm unsure how that happened. Can a moderator allow me to fix it?

    Fixed. Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Good call (and thanks for the swift response). The page itself is using a plugin (a Flash gallery), so I cannot really deactivate that plugin and ascertain anything. That said, the problem seems to be the particular skin for that gallery that I am using: switching to a different skin eliminates the problem.

I just emailed the gallery/plugin creator and brought this apparent skin-problem to his attention. I will see how he responds and then post again here.

    Thanks again, esmi.

    Following up:

The plugin author (of the Grand Flash Album Gallery) responded quickly (thanks) and enlightened me yet again:

This particular skin has a deeplink feature enabling the user to copy and send a link to any individual image in the flash gallery rather than merely to the gallery as a whole.

The permalink with /#/0 sends a link to the gallery as a whole as it opens on the screen, /#/1 to the first image that is called up individually, /#/2 to the second, and so on.

Thanks again, esmi, for prompting me to examine the plugins more carefully.

Thanks for posting the detailed explanation. Hopefully that will help others in the same situation.

Final note: I may later change the skin in the gallery linked above to a skin that might not implement this deeplink feature. The skin mentioned above, however, is the 3D Flat Wall Gallery at
