[resolved] Performance concerns (4 posts)

So, this plugin is overall awesome, no complaints.

Recently, I've installed the Plugin Performance Profiler plugin and ran a scan on my site and was kinda surprised to see that Wysija is responsible for nearly 50% of the total load time!

I ran the scan more than once to confirm, still says between 45%-50%.

Would love for the dev team to take a look at this. Also, can some users here maybe confirm whether this is also the case for them or not?

    Thanks

    Hello Hassan,

Well I'm still a bit concerned on P3's calculations, we are aware of it since we had already few users reporting us that result.

Now Wysija is not just a little plugin to add a tiny little functionality in your WordPress site, this means that it has many files in it's core that are necessary for it to run.

We try as much as possible to optimise the number of files required to run it, and we keep improving it step by step. Now I recommend you to install another big plugin such as Yoast's WordPress SEO, and you'll see that suddenly wysija is not taking such a high percentage of the whole plugins load time. It all depends on the other plugins you have activated on your site basically.

    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Ben

    Ben, thanks for the reply.

In fact, I do have Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin installed. Surprisingly, it is responsible for a very low percentage of total load time (which kind of puts question marks on P3's calculations). Now of course this may or may not be totally accurate, but I thought I should just let you know anyway.

Good to know you're aware of this and already got some feedback.

    Cheers.

I've always had concerns about the accuracy of that P3 plugin myself.
On my http://www.geekandjock.com website, I have 2 Optin forms on just about every post page. Though I do use WP SuperCache and lazy loading, pages load pretty fast and I'm on shared hosting as well.

I've used P3 before but haven't witnessed any mention of Wysija being a burden. That's just my experience anyway.
