    I’m using this plugin a long time and it offers the simplicity I was looking for.

    I use it if I search for something in my db and if I need to replace it it works also.

    But with WP 2.9+ and PHP 5.5+ you will need a little workaround for the plugin to work properly. Member RonG epxplained this here.
