    Hi,

    We had a problem sometime ago with PDF file on our WordPress Network.
    Opening small PDF (50k at most) would take many minutes.
    We end up figuring that the problem came from the gzip compression.

    We are now using

    if($mimetype == 'application/pdf'){
    	ini_set('zlib.output_compression', 'Off');
    }

    in ms-files.php

    We now have many WordPress network on apache or on nginx, but we still have the problem on all of them.

    I can't seem to find other people with the same problem, are we doing something wrong on our server or is this a real issue?

  2. Gzip isn't turned on by default in WP... What plugins are you using?

    No plugins, we are using apache and nginx configuration to enable gzip.

  4. I think it's how you set up your server... But also how the ms-files.php stuff worked.

    You may want to consider getting rid of ms-files:
