    hi,

I have my site in paypal sandbox mode. I can buy an item, pay for it using a sandbox account, the order is received in Woocommerce and IPN payment is completed appears. The order moves to processing.

However, no emails are sent to the customer using the paypal sandbox method? Is this correct?

Emails are being sent if purchased through cheque and BACS. Why would they not be sent using paypal sandbox?

    thanks for any help.

If anyone finds this and needs help, I fixed it by adding the wp-smtp plugin and getting that to send emails.

    Hope it helps someone.

    Hi fatherb:

How did you config wp-smtp to send the emails? Via external SMTP server like GMAIL or with the php() function?

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Javier.

Yes via an external server – specificially outlook.com which our custom domain name mail is pointing to.

There’s a settings screen in WP SMTP which you just fill in with you SMTP details – it includes a test button so you can check it works and it then takes over the sending of your emails. Works well.
