PATH_INFO and greedy regex (3 posts)

    Hi,

I'm having some trouble with my categories and tags. I have a category that's named 'blog' and I've installed WordPress in a directory called blog. When I go to
    http://www.example.com/blog/category/blog
I get a 404. I've been investigating server logs and config files and I've realized that .htaccess rules for permalinks have been simplified in WordPress 2.0. .htaccess rules no longer manage redirects, but instead just redirect to index.php; there on, the path_info is parsed somewhere in the loop.
I suppose the problem is that the regex that's parsing the url is getting fed greedily up to the second 'blog'. Can anyone please help with this. Where is the path info parsed (which file) and how can I change that function so that it doesn't trip with my category 'blog'. Thanks in advance.

PS- I also use a tag 'blog' and "Jerome's Keywords" plugin. When I go to http://www.example.com/blog/tag/blog i also get a 404.

This will be fixed in 2.0.1.

Ok, thanks. But how about a little patch to fix it until then?
