    Hi,
I have just setup wordpress and started to customize a theme. When I initially installed I saw a message reminding me to reset my password for security purposes, so I went into my profile and changed it and wrote it down. After a couple of hours of working on the website, up popped a message telling me I had been logged out and I needed to log back in to continue working. After 3 failed attempts I have had to accept that my password is incorrect - perhaps I wrote it down wrong.

I selected the 'forgot password' option but no email has come through - what do you recommend? Without this email I can't reset the password...I'm stumped.

Thanks but that page seems to be for when users are having trouble receiving their passwords - I'm not a user, I'm the administrator who setup and installed wordpress so I'm completely locked out. The advice on those links involves logging into the wordpress admin page and dealing with things on that side - I can't even get in or retrieve the email telling me the password!

The link on how to reset the password is way too technical for me - I'm not comfortable editing SQL stuff, I just installed wordpress for the first time today and use a basic template for my website.

In WordPress, there is more than one way to set your password. Please try re-reviewing the WP Codex I linked before, and as follows: http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
