Howdy,
I recently upgraded to WP 3.0.1, and it seems like I am no longer able to password protect posts. I also created a custom post type, and setting those to password protected doesn't do anything except append "protected:" to the title. Funny enough, password protected pages still work.
Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
Dalton
A little digging and I've found that only content generated by the the_content() function is password protected. My custom post template is mostly made up of custom fields. Is there any way to password protect the content, including custom fields, in a template? I'm surprised I've never come across this before, seems like a potentially big issue?

Definitely would be nice to have this setting restrict general access to the page.

+100 Totally agree, Custom_posts were a nice introduction, good idea to upgrade the rest of the functionality of WP related to protected custom posts.

I concur. Would love to be able to password protect custom posts.

+1000 for that one! All content should be protected in that case, the custom fields AND the content!

Just thought I had found a good option but it was for custom fields... helpful nonetheless.
