Support » Fixing WordPress » Password protecting child pages

  • Hello, I’m having trouble password protecting pages on my site. I can password protect individual pages and child pages ok, but what I would really like to do is make it so that once you’ve entered the password for a parent page, you don’t have to re-enter the password when browsing each child.

    Any ideas?

Wasn’t sure if .htaccess was the way to go as I’m using friendly URLs so such subdirectories don’t actually exist.

All suggestions are very much appreciated! Thanks.

    Anyone?

    Hey Tobjones,
I’ve messed around with passwords on pages a little. I haven’t found a way to have universal password access via the parent page.

What you might try is creating a parent page that you need a password for and then creating sub parent-pages that don’t have a password that you only link to the password protected page.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks David! I had thought about that, sounds like the way to go. Nice and easy to implement too!

    Thanks again!
