Password protected pages no longer working

    Hello,

    A few months ago I set up several password protected pages which have worked fine until yesterday when they suddenly stopped working. I had not changed anything or added any new plug ins etc.
    I have now updated to WordPress 3.5.1 to see if that solved the problem but nothing changed. I’ve systematically deactivated and re-activated all plug ins but again nothing has made any difference.

    I really am quite a novice at all this and don’t understand teccie jargon. If anyone can help at all please do it in idiot language.

    There you go I am an idiot – it would probably help get an answer if I explain what happens. When the password is entered it just says the page can not be found
