Password Protected Page Redirecting to Admin Screen

    I’ve been searching the forums, and every thread I’ve seen about this topic seems to have been closed with no resolution.

    I’ve password protected a page in WordPress using the page visibility function in the upper right-hand corner. When I go to the page, I get the enter password screen, but when I enter the password, I get redirected to the WordPress admin area.

    From what I’ve seen this has nothing to do with plug-ins or the theme but seems to be a problem with WordPress functionality. Can anyone help?
