Password Protect / Passwords for each subscriber ?

    Ok, here is what I want to do, maybe someone can help me

    1. I want to set up a wordpress site/blog, in which individual subscribers request access (via a password) by submitting their email address to either me personally and/or to the blog.

    2. Each password should be unique to each user.

    3. At some point in the future, the blog will go pay-subscription only, and the original subscribers above will be given the option to pay a fee via PayPal or similar method, and a new password will be issued if they choose to sign up for the subscription

    Can anyone tell me how to do this ?
