   I forgot my password, so I tried the following things:

   1. Having the password emailed to me.
      

      I got an error indicating that the mail() function on my server may not be working. The error from the server indicated that in SAFE MODE, the mail() function won't take the 5th parameter. Whatever that means

   2. Manually resetting the password through PHPMyAdmin as documented elsewhere in the troubleshooting forum.
      

      Although I no longer got a log-in error, the log-in page simply reloaded as if I hadn't typed anything.

   3. Manually adding a new user through PHPMyAdmin.
      

      Same as #2.

   4. Clearing cookies.
      

      no effect.

   5. I also looked for the $tableusers fix documented elsewhere in this forum, but I think my version of wordpress is up-to-date because line 115 contains a BODY tag and nothing else.

   Any help anyone can offer would be most welcome!!
