I have a client area and need password protected pages which I have
the problem is the page just reloads after asking for the password I have seen this else where on the forum possibly about .htaccess file
needing further permissions
any help please

Did you ever got this problem resolved? Recently my WP started to behave the same way. Password protected pages only work in IE. Firefox and Chrome just reload the password page.
