    Self-hosted site

    URL: http://www.iglesiavida.cc

forgot my password to access wordpress so i can edit the website; tried to use the "lost password" link on /wp-login.php. I have tried it several times, but i'm not getting anything, no link to reset password, nothing at all. I tried doing the manual way by going on to phpMyadmin...but i just butchered it up and ended up changing mysql password instead of my wordpress password and did the whole "error establishing a data connection" (my host was able to restore things for me...thank goodness). is there some kind of kink in the "lost password" link? I've used it before and have had success, but i'm not sure why it's not working tonight. would really appreciate any help. at the risk of sounding dumb, i admit it was just simpler to use the wordpress lost password link, instead of doing a trial and error over something that i really do not have much experience on (meaning never had experience doing a manual password change for my wordpress site). the website is up and running...i just can't get in to edit it. help please =)

    lots of thanks in advance!

If you read the relevant codex page, there are several password recovery methods for you to try.

Maybe give the FTP method a go, but backup any file before you live edit it.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot but I actually did try that. However, my hosting site has it locked and when i try to make changes, it says it is a "read-only" file.
