Hi Can someone help me. when I try to log on to my blog nothing is visible apart from an error message which tells me that my password might be wrong in wp-config.php file. I have had a look at this but don't know what to change it to. This all began when I forgot my log on password and I went into my cpanel and changed my user name and password for the blog but instead of helping it has made it much worse ie before I could not logi in to my blog but now it is no longer displayed.

    Cheers

I don't know what did you change in the cPanel... because from there you can NOT change the login password for your WP install.
If you changed the password in the wp-config file - that was a mistake! You don't have the blog password there; it contains your pw to the database and you you shouldn't touch it ever (unless you change the database!).

Can you describe exactly what you did?

    Dear Moshu

I think I may have blown it completely. I fiddled around with the password in the cpanel in the MysQL Database area. Then I deleted the data base. Then I recreated it. Now the passwords in the config file and here are the same but....

Now the message I get when I try to go to my blog is "it doesnt look like youve installed WP yet run install.php" so I think that is what I will have to do. Will I be able to include my previous entries or will I have wiped them out when I deleted the data base? Can you give me instructions on how I might rescue this. Or do I have to put it down to experience?

Incidentally I have now found my blog log in password. I should have been more patient.

    Thanks

    Annie
