Well I have gone through all the support here and tried several different methods all of which didn’t work.

    I’m getting this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /XXXX/www/XXXXXXXXXX/blog/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 352

So I deleted the wp-db.php file from my web server and reloaded it. Same error. Deleted again from web server and tried three different FTP loaders and same error (with deleting the file inbetween. No overwrites). So I then downloaded another full copy of WordPress and only did the wp-db.php upload with several different FTP uploads again with the same error. So then I looked at the wp-db.php code and couldn’t find anything wrong (didn’t touch or change it in any way).

Then I trashed it all and uploaded a new WordPress folder with files (unzipped of course) and still getting the same error.

    HELP!

A 5 minute install is turning into days.

Is there another wp-db.php file that I should be using? I downloaded the latest greatest so I would think it is up to date.

I’m on a Mac and will will try loading from a PC next. I just can’t think of anything else to do…

    Just an update.

I loaded using a PC and had no problems. Working smoothly now. No errors.

    Odd eh?
