• Hi, I’ve just downloaded a theme and uploaded it right without errors via FTP. But just when I upon activating it I get this error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/u967421118/public_html/wp-content/themes/whip/inc/functions-init.php on line 1

    This is my website, http://teelab.sexyi.am

Help is much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

Any chance I could still use the recent theme I’ve uploaded? I was able to log in back on my dashboard and switched to twentyeleven theme with your instructions. Renamed the theme backed to it’s original folder name.

Not until the issue is fixed or you can upload a fresh copy of the theme.

Thanks esmi. I still wish I could use this theme I’ve been wanting to use. Thanks a lot!
