I’ve installed the database and WP v.2.6.1. This is a new installation, not an upgrade.

When I try to go to /wp-admin/install.php to set it up, I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/zebra/public_html/blog/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 2134

I looked at the “taxonomy.php” file, and looked at line 2134, but it means nothing to me.

I tried re-installing the taxonomy file, but that didn’t resolve it. This was the original taxonomy file, not altered in any way.

Sorry. Yes, it is 2.6.2. I just downloaded it today. The “read me” file said 2.6.1, which threw me off.

oke. do me a favor, and lets rule out one important thing.

    your wp-config.php —

it should not have any blank lines or char codes, linbebreaks, etc.. before the opening <?php or after the closing ?>

Theyre invisible, if they are there at all, but lets doublecheck that first.

Also, if you want me to check that file, I can. In fact, Ill bet you I can fix your install in about 5 minutes.

email me and Ill help, just to get to the bottom of this, since your the second person in as many days to have this happen.

I will, however, need ftp access to your files.

If you have gmail, we can do gooogle chat.

my gmail email is whoooo (and thats on gmail)

and just so you know, Im not a fly-by-nighter on these forums, hitting ppl up so i can get some wierd access to their files. Im almost 4 years to the good around here.

I fixed this. I reuploaded the files inside wp-includes/ using a normal FTP client, transferring them in ascii mode.
