Parent directory list showing instead of blog pages

    I have just installed WordPress, set a static homepage, and published a test blog but when I try to open the homepage I get the index of the blog. When I click on the ‘index.php’ file, I am taken to an empty file.

    Is there something i missed in the configuration or setup of WordPress?

    Thanks for any help you can provide.
