Paragraph Spacing problem on using any other theme than twenty 10 or 11

    i recently changed my websites theme and now the p and br tags just disappear from html due to which paragraph spacing dosn’t work
    this is a recent problem and wasn’t there in my previous theme
    i tried switching to my previous theme but the same problem occurs but previously it wasn’t there
    and strangely when i switch to the wordpress default theme then it works. all formating works
