This is a weird one....
After editing the Permalink settings in the dashboard, my blog's home page has changed to a random post. What the hell is going on...?!!
Also, the page the homepage has been replaced with generates a 404 unless Permalinks are set to 'Month and name'...
(basically, any requests for the homepage now go to
http://www.eastlondonlines.co.uk/2009/11/hackney-council-consider-booze-ban/ )
Help...
Anyone?
OK, well it turned out to be down to a Redirect plugin I had installed. Uninstalling that magically fixed things.

I had changed the permalink to include the index.php, which is needed to work with nginx server setting.
all links are fine except the home page.
I killed and cleaned all caches. Did wordpress reinstall.. still happening. Google search is recovering now, but each one coming from front page / home will end up in 404.
