Pagination Short of Total Pages (404 Error on Last Pages) Inconsistency (5 posts)

    The latter pages of pagination show a 404 on the search page, but on the custom taxonomy pages of the same tag, all pages work properly.

    I was completely lost until I saw the title of the search results:

    Although it shows 32 pages of results, wordpress (the title) says there are 28 pages!

    Sure enough, after page 28 is where you get stuck in the twighlight zone of 404s.

    As mentioned though, this does not happen navigating the same tag on the taxonomy pages - just search.

    Any idea what causes this generally? WordPress is not playing nicely with my custom post type.

  2. Can you show us the code used on your custom post type to display the loop and the pagination?

    You can use a site like pastebin.com to post your code... then simply provide us the link to the page with the code snippet, here.

    Thanks Josh! Here is the paste-bin link: http://pastebin.com/EcTFmXZ1

    This has been a very persistent problem. Been on it a week. Thought I solved it then it reared back up in a different way. (previous thread)

    Update: I experimented with offset and it doesn't work. Somehow I think there's some common and well known issue at play here and somehow I'm not seeing it.

    *facehand*

    Echo echooo...

    <?php echo 'I can hear my echo in here...';

    Where's that spikey hair mod? She should have locked this thread hours ago.

    My research shows that problems with custom post types and pagination are not only common, but generally unfixed by most developers, have any number of possible solutions, but in general its found that this may (just may...) be a wordpress bug?
