[resolved] Pagination Not Working and Table Behind Text (12 posts)

    I recently updated to TablePress. Now my tables are not showing up correctly. The table is appearing behind text on the page and the columns are not breaking into the number of rows I've specified so the pagination function is not working. Not sure what to do. Here is a link to the page I'm speaking of:

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    The reason for this is the number of columns that you have. The long words in the table force a certain minimum width, so that the table stretches into the sidebar. The easiest way to reduce that width would be to reduce the padding in the cells (which is the whitespace around the text in the cells). To do that, please add this to the "Custom Commands" textfield on the "Edit" screen of the table:

    .tablepress-id-7 th,
    .tablepress-id-7 td {
      padding: 4px!important;
    }

    For the pagination: This not working due to a JavaScript conflict that is raised by another plugin, and which stops the execution of JavaScript code on the page. That plugin is the "WPaudio MP3 Player" plugin. It contains a syntax error in one of its JS files. As that plugin doesn't seem to be maintained any longer, I recommend to deactivate it and to find a replacement.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    I'm having a similar issue with a different WP audio plugin called "mb.miniAudioPlayer" - I know its this plugin because when I disable it, pagination works. When I enable it, pagination won't work. Any way you might be able to tell me if there's a possible fix? I'd hate to have to find another audio player. Now I'm concerned these players in general won't play nice with TablePress!

    Here is the link to my page. The table is only a draft to test it out. I have everything set up properly so that it will paginate at 5 rows. Thanks.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    The reason for this is then most likely a JavaScript problem.
    And no don't worry, this is not specific to all these players in general. More likely, it might even be connected to your theme, which is loading its own (and outdated) version of the jQuery JS library, instead of using that that comes with WordPress.

    To find out details, I'd now need to see the broken version of table. Could you please activate that audio plugin again?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    P.S.: In case you haven't heard about it: WordPress 3.6 (scheduled for May) will bring native audio support, so that you won't need an extra plugin. See http://make.wordpress.org/core/2013/04/08/audio-video-support-in-core/ for more.

    Hi,

    thanks for activating it again.

    The problem seems to be in your theme, indeed.
    I now get a script error in the file
    http://thetracksmiths.com/wp-content/themes/Creativelife/js/creativelife.js
    Namely, the lines

    /*
    	HTML5 Audio
    */
    if ( $("audio").length ) {
    	audiojs.events.ready( function() {
    		audiojs.create( $("audio"), { css: '' } );
    	} );
    }

    (lines 177-184) seem to cause trouble.
    I suggest that you remove those for now.

    Also, to verify my assumption, you could temporarily switch to the WordPress default theme Twenty Twelve, to see, if it works there.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    The WP 3.6 audio additions sound awesome. For the record, I DID find another audio player that works called "CodeArt - Google MP3 Player". It's not as nice looking, but it will do the job. If you don't find anything conclusive, I'll just end up using CodeArt until WP 3.6 drops.
