1 of my users reported that previous and next button don't work for him/her. i don't have any problem. is it because of him/her internet browser?
thanks for your post.
On first glance I can only spot tables with one pagination page, so obviously nothing happens when clicking those buttons.
Can you post the link to a table that has more than one pagination page, so where the previous and next buttons work for you?
thanks for that link!
I tested the pagination in this table in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer, and everything works fine, and nothing is broken.
I have no idea what that user had problems with. Might be that we was expecting something to happen in a table that only has one pagination page...
i have no problem too.
i will ask him about it later
Thanks a lot
ok, great. If you can then confirm his problem, just post again.
I have just (today) donated (paypal ending with xxxxxxxxx55)in appreciation of your work which helped me to create 7 tables.
All went well until the latest table, which admittedly is rather long, which failed to paginate...just when I needed it most to paginate...
Other pages with Tables that paginate properly are at:
Same pagination settings were applied at all 3 urls.
Would be most grateful for your help to resolve this.
Apologies, I am still using
as my theme vendor has requested that I do not upgrade to 3.5.2 for now.
But it's still puzzling why pagination has stopped working.
thanks for post (and the donation), and sorry for the trouble :-(
which however does not exist. This might trip up the scripts.
Also, you should kick your theme vendor and tell him to make the theme compatible to WP 3.5.1 asap, so that you can update everything to the latest versions (WP, theme, and all plugins).
Thanks for replying.
The pagination doesn't work? That's really interesting because until the latest one, all the rest work, even on the PC (Win7) in my office and on other PCs (Win XP and WinXP Pro) at home.
Yes, I have seen that givelink js in the status bar but have no idea where that came from. Will try to track it down.
Will update you if it works.
Theme vendor...sigh... :)
Just to demonstrate that the pagination works on shorter tables - see attached (in your email) where I have inserted a test table under an existing post (where the pagination does work).
The post url is:
I have also tested by deactivating other plugins, including the one that requests for
Still the pagination does not work for the long table which has 182 rows. Is there a row or column limit for the plugin?
I just checked again, and you are right. The pagination work in the shorter tables. I have no idea why it didn't work for me yesterday...
Sorry for the false alarm.
Also, I have found the reason why the pagination does not work on the large table. I should have spotted that yesterday as well, but didn't... I guess, it was not my best day yesterday. Sorry...
The problem is the combined cells in the table head row (where you use
So, you'll have to remove all
#colspan#s from the table, and the pagination will work again.
So, it's also not the fault of other plugins, and you can reactivate those. You might still want to fix the inclusion of that non-existing buttons.js file, and get your theme vendor to update the theme, just to be on the safe side for the future.
You are fast!
You provided the solution even as I was testing other possible bugs...please ignore the emailed examples.
Yes, removed #colspan#, now pagination works for my super long table (182 rows) !
awesome! Great to see that this fixed it. (And again sorry that I didn't spot this right away...)
P.S.: In case you haven't, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
Just realized that I put my question in the wrong forum. Never thought it might me a table issue, thought it was a wdpress issue because it seems to have happened after the upgrade to 3.5.1, yet there was also that upgrade of the table plug in as well. LasT I new, before all the upgrade the previous and next buttons worked, now they don't. I have gone in and tried to relink them to each othe and nothing happens. Don't know where to go or what to do. I am not real familar with .php and where to find or put things.
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Can you please point me to a page on your site with a table where this the pagination is not working? And can you please describe what exactly you feel is not working for that table?
I can not get any of the previous or next links on my pages to work. Just about all of my pages have table on them. There are a few that do not. Table works fine, it is just that when I hit the previous or next button nothing happens. Before all the up grades in both wordpress and the new table press plugin there were arrows for previous and next. It could be wordpress for all I know. I am just trying to find a fix for the prolbem.
Many of the the pages when you hover over the pages it gives the name of the page it is to go to. It just does not go anywhere. Some of them give no link, but those I know about because I quite linking when I figured out it was not working.
I still don't see a problem...
I have found some tables on your pages, like these:
All of them have the grayed-out pagination links below them. However, as your tables only have few entries, the pagination doesn't have to do anything. Remember, the pagination is a feature for tables with many rows that splits the rows into several "chunks", so that only ten rows are shown each time. The Next and Previous links are used to navigate between these chunks. They are not used to navigate to a different page of the website.
Is that maybe causing the confusion? Are you expecting these links to send you to another page of the site, e.g. from "Barrettes 1" to "Barrettes 2"?
Yes that helped. The table reload could be used to go between different pages of the website. I didn't fully understand what you were saying until this post. That was exactly what I had expected because it was that way in table reload.
Thanks for filling me in on this.
no, I'm sorry, but the pagination in WP-Table Reloaded could never go between different pages of the website. It is (in both plugins) just a functionality that affects tables, in that it enables to split long tables into "chunks" of (for example) 10 rows at a time.
Could it be possible that you are mixing this up with a functionality that most themes have for posts? Those indeed allow to move from one post of a site to the previous or next post (defined by the date/time of when the post was published). However, this does not work for pages.
Sorry nit has taken me so long to respond, I haven't been on the website much in the last couple of weeks. I do not know what made it work before, but that is alright. There is place at the top to get from one page to another in the site. Thanks for you help, just glad to find out the answer to my question.
sure, no problem! Always glad when I can help! :-)
