Pages, posts, categories, and gridproducts (6 posts)

    It would appear that I can't assign pages to categories. But if I create a new post for the sake of creating my store, that post shows up live on the blog, unless I'm doing something wrong. I only want it showing up on the store page using the gridproducts code.

    I'm using Cart66 and while the gridproducts readme says it will work with Cart66, it doesn't say how it works. So far the only way I can get it to work is by product ID after a post has been created, NOT a page. I don't see anywhere in wordpress to designate a category as not to be posted to the main blog either. As in, hidden unless accessed from the store. . .

    Any ideas on how I can use gridproducts without cluttering up my blog with unwanted posts?

    you need to add "products" not posts.

    look under the media tab in the admin menu.

    under products, create your product categories

    add your products and assign them to the categories

    make a page

    insert the shortcode of your choice into the page.

    Is it possible if I create a products grid using wordpress pages? I have already all my products set as pages. I hope this is possible. thanks

    No you cannot use pages , BUT I took a look around and you can simply convert the pages to the custom post type "products" using this plugin :
