I am working on this site but am getting 404s on everything other than the home page. I'm wondering what is wrong with my configuration. There must be a clash with the root wordpress installation.

    Thanks

The links are wrong but it's too difficult to diagnose without looking at the config.

You may want to explain how the network is built and where the links are supposed to point at.

    Thanks for your reply.

The links are actually correct and, according to the dashboard, there are corresponding pages for all of them. However, when following those links (including from the dashboard preview), you get a 404, returned by the other WordPress installation.

As far as i know, the only relevant config setting is $table_prefix which is set correctly, i.e. differently for each installation, with each set of tables prefixed accordingly. This seems to be working correctly as the admin panel allows for post updates to be made and recorded separately for each installation.

The problem appears to be with the '/' installation returning all requests within the '/feedbacknew' installation, other than the home page of course. I can't work out why this is.

    Thanks again!

What 'root' WP install are you talking about?

    Multisite only has ONE install.

ah ok. i mean multi install, single database. my clash is occurring on this basis. the root WP install is http://www.feedbackfilms.co.uk/

    Thanks again for your attentions!

  6. i mean multi install, single database.

Multiple Installs. So you have multiple, separate, installs of WP all using the same DB with different prefixes?

If so, you are not using Multisite.

And now that I view the source of your second site, I see images loading from here: http://www.feedbackfilms.co.uk/feedbacknew/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/city.jpg

So no, you're not using Multisite. Moving this to the general forums :)
