  • Ive found the wordpress definition of pages confusing.
    expected pages to bear content and contain post beneath.

    Ive now appreciated that the hiearchy is that posts will effectively be pages within category…. eg

    category = horserace tracks
    post = sandown
    post = ascot
    post = aintree
    etc…

    MY QUESTION IS THIS….

    I am unable to get widgets on to the posts
    they only appear on “Pages”…..

    I HAVE A SECOND QUESTION….

    once i enable widgets and feeds on each post will i be able to bring in feeds related to post ?
    eg sandown
    ascot
    aintree

    WITH THANKS in advance for your help. (I C the rains holding off, London)

    anyone any idea why i dont have widgets on my post page ?
    they are only on my “pages” not on post page.

    also can i set up feeds on each post related to post key word ?
    eg sandown
    ascot
    aintree

    Can some one give pointers for how this is done ….

    You might want to go back check the codex section on pages, but I will do my best…

    “Pages” are static, you set them up, and they have a perm place in your menu. yes, Pages can have comments it you enable them on the setting for that Page.

    Where widgets can go is dependant on a theme. Themes have templates for different views of your site. (themes are collections of designed templates, each used by the server to generate a WEBpage).

    Most templates have a space for widgets on the right hand side of the view. Some have widge space on the bottom, very few have space around the posts.

    I do not understand your second question, so sorry cant help there.

    Also, for some of the real experts here to help (I am just past beginner myself) you will need to give more info, like your theme and a link to your site.

    best of luck!
