I changed the permalink to /%postname%/ but I still can't open the About Page, etc. Even when I click preview from the Page editor, it gives the the Godaddy 404 page... =\

    Can you pose your url?

Did you choose another permalink option and checked if that works?

Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is running on your server.

    claredickerson.com

I did check with all the permalink options, yes. None of them worked.

I will check into that mod_rewrite thing... (:

According to Godaddy, it should be enabled automatically.
I also installed it straight from the Godaddy site, vs. doing the manual install... =\

What happens if you use the default permalinks?
What happens if you use one of the other preset permalink structures?
Is the .htaccess file being updated?

As esmi suggested, check your .htaccess.
You may want to try to replace with the default .htaccess code and see if that helps.

You can get the default .htaccess code here.

Looking a little further, here is what I have learned:

I am running on Godaddy's Windows server, not their Linux one, so instead of Apache, I have IIS7, which means I would have to perform some mod_rewrite shit, anyways.

I went to the link above and saw something about it... it seems a bit confusing to me (I'm more of a designer than a developer /sigh) so I am hoping my boyfriend (who is more of a developer than a designer) will have a look at it.

Thanks for the link and the info! If you have more than you think may be helpful, feel free to throw it at me, otherwise, I'll continue trying to make sense of it all... (:
